The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science will host on 3-4 June 2019 the 9th edition of the Workshop for Young Researchers in Mathematics, organized in cooperation with ICUB, the S. Stoilow Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest and the Ovidius University of  Constanta.
The event is organized in two sections focused on Algebra, Geometry and Topology, respectively on PDEs, Analysis and Applied Mathematics.
There will about 30 speakers in the early stages of their career (Master's and PhD students,  post-docs) from the most representative Romanian schools and also from institutes in UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria and Morocco.
This series of events originated in 2011 at the Ovidius University of Constanta as a forum where recent PhD graduates working in, or linked  to Romania could meet and share their ideas and reserch plans. Over time, several international participants joined.
The current edition is the first to take place at the University of Bucharest. It is organized by Cristina Anghel-Palmer (IMAR & Univ. of Oxford), Cristian Cazacu (UB), Iulian Cimpean (IMAR), Constantin Costara (Constanta), Nicusor Costea (Politehnica Bucuresti), Anca Macinic (IMAR) and Dumitru Stamate (UB).
