The International Conference “Quantum groups, category theory and related topics”, which will take place between 20-22 May 2024 at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Bucharest, Romania, aims to celebrate two distinguished members of our faculty, professors Sorin Dăscălescu and Dragoş Ştefan. This will be achieved by the presence to Bucharest of some experts in the field, in order to exchange information and research results regarding the theory of quantum groups (some of the guests being even collaborators of the two celebrated professors). The conference provides a good opportunity for the academic community to exchange ideas and present their recent research.

The conference consists of presentations, both on site and online. Discussions of the results presented by the speakers as well as the trends and challenges we face in this area of algebra are strongly encouraged.
