The Research Institute of the University of Bucharest („Institutul de Cercetare al Universității din București” – ICUB) is an innovative research structure of the University of Bucharest (UB). ICUB has four divisions that interact through common vision and approaches:
ICUB supports interdisciplinary research and hosts the “Interdisciplinary Institutional Platform for Excellence in Research, Development and Professional Training in the Field of Archaeological Sciences”.
ICUB supports building research careers and hosts The Romanian Young Academy (RYA).
ICUB encourages excellence in research and the cross-disciplinary research from all fields.
ICUB’s mission is threefold:
- To stimulate and promote excellence in the research activity at the UB. ICUB provides a dynamic environment for research projects for both young and established researchers.
- To establish itself as a central hub in an international network of research institutes. ICUB fosters collaboration with other centers and projects, joint grant-submission with other institutions, and hosts individual projects in all fields of research.
- To go beyond the strategies of traditional areas of fundamental research, and to explore cross-cutting approaches worldwide, including cross-disciplinary research from all fields.
