The year 2020 brought the challenge of organizing online conferences in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. ICUB, together with International Association for Landscape Ecology, IALE România, European Land-use Institute (ELI), and Faculty of Geography organized such an online conference with the full support from the University of Bucharest. The university provided the Cisco Webex platform for organizing the event.

Researchers at the University of Bucharest, together with their colleagues in the United States, Russia, Japan and Germany, exchanged ideas and shared their experiences on events organized in the online-virtual environment. The output of their discussion is an article titled Recommendations for Virtual Conferences, which is hosted by the IALE International website, in the Services section.
