In Romania, diafilms were filmstrips created for propaganda and educational purposes from 1950 until 1989. They have never been studied so far, with very few exceptions, and no conservation efforts were made. The current ICUB project helped create a digitized archive containing diafilms dating from various periods and including the series “Istoria Patriei” (“History of our Motherland”).

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers from various fields in order to discuss this unique archive from a kaleidoscope of perspectives.
