The ArchaeoScience#RO Platform of the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) is pleased to announce the fifth ArchaeoSciences Seminars.
It will take place on 7 - 10 October 2019 at the University of Bucharest, and our guest speaker is Dr. Attila Kreiter from the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest, Hungary.
Head of Laboratory for Applied Research at the Hungarian National Museum, Dr. Attila Kreiter is one of the best-known specialists in Europe in the study of archaeological pottery. His research interests include the utilization of interdisciplinary analysis in archaeological interpretation and the combination of interdisciplinary research with archaeological theory, the origins and transmission of ceramic technologies, continuity and change in ceramic technologies and the social meaning/application of these processes. Apart from ceramic petrography, he employs a broad range of analytical techniques to gather data including X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Laser Ablation (LA-ICP-MS, LA-ICP-AES). Currently, Dr. Attila Kreiter is involved in analyzing ceramics from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages from Hungary.
He will take part in several events at the University of Bucharest, grouped under the title “Contemporary Trends in Pottery Technology. Talks, Debates & Lectures".
