It is our pleasure to invite you to the 3rd Summer School on Flow Cytometry which will be held on the 28-29th of May 2019, in Bucharest, Romania. The event is organized by The Research Institute of the University of Bucharest with the support of the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest, and Romanian Association of Cytometry. The objectives of the event are to learn from the experts, to present emerging science, to improve the collaboration with peers and to start new research projects in a friendly scientific atmosphere.
The Workshop will take place with the participation of the Foreign Guest Invited Speakers: Prof. Lydia CAMPOS (President of French Association of Cytometry, France, University Hospital of Saint-Etienne Hospital, Laboratory of Hematology, Saint-Etienne, France), Prof. Claude LAMBERT (University Hospital of Saint-Etienne Hospital, Laboratory of Immunology, Saint-Etienne, France), și Prof. Nicolas ARRAUD (Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève, Switzerland, Swiss Flow Cytometry School).

The topics include theoretical lectures and hands-on activities on
- Basic flow cytometry course
FCM principles, Applications, fluidics, optics, electronics, types of instruments
Fluorescence: Principle of fluorescence, fluorochromes, tandem dyes, interference, filter selection, optical bench
Fluorescence detection, instrument settings, compensations
Experimental design and data analysis
- Cell Biology
Cell cycle, viability
Basophils
Extracellular vesicles
Immunophenotyping
- Clinical Hematology
Case study discussions
Workshops will include theoretical courses and practical activities.
! Please note that the number of participants to each workshop is limited to a maximum of 15 persons.
The event has Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation granted by Romanian College of Physicians & Romanian Order of Biochemists, Biologists and Chemists.
The participants are kindly asked to bring a laptop with mouse to facilitate the analysis of the flow cytometry data.
