Marian-Gabriel Hancean is associate professor at the Department of Sociology, the University of Bucharest, Romania, where he teaches the following courses: social network analysis (MA level), sociology of organizations and organizational behavior (BA level). His research is generally focused on social network analysis. His current research stream addresses the antecedents and the consequences of collaboration networks in national academic communities. He employs both socio-centric and personal network analysis research designs in understanding the formation and the impact of co-authorship networks. And, also, at the same time, he is interested in multilevel social network methodology. Gabriel is an affiliated member of the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA – the professional association for social network analysis) and of the Romanian Sociological Society (the professional body of Romanian sociologists).
